How can you tell the forest from the trees? That was the question plaguing me during my first existential crisis and why I never wanted to go to therapy. I didn’t want someone to tell me that the only way past my depression was to abandon the conclusions I’d just come to. I didn’t want to go back, but couldn’t move forward and I didn’t think a therapist was the right person to teach me how to do that.
That being said, I now know that I could have used a therapist for a whole host of other reasons. Enter Existential therapy. It can be a lifesaver for both neurotypicals and neurodivergents wrestling with existential depression.
